The legend of the Huma Bird has been legendary in different ways in every civilization. The legend of the Huma Bird has been strengthened with meanings such as wealth, happiness, bliss, goodness, fortune, and paradise in the common denominator, regardless of civilization and belief.
The place of the Huma Bird legend in the Mythology of Asia Minor is that it brings wealth and happiness. Other than that, it is believed that he flew to the seven heavens without stopping, and even sat in heaven.
According to the legend of the Huma Bird, in Azerbaijan, there is a belief that whoever lands on the head of the Huma Bird or whose shadow passes over it, that person will become the ruler.

The legend of the Huma Kusu is depicted in Turkish culture in a similar way to that in Azerbaijan. There are beliefs that as a result of the Huma Bird landing on someone, its shadow falling or fouling, that person will attain happiness or become a ruler. The word Hümayun in the Ottoman Empire is derived from the word Hüma. Therefore, it was called the Bird of Fortune and the State Bird.
Huma Bird in Turkish Culture
In Turkish culture, Hüma Kuşu is not limited to telling the legend of Hüma Kuşu. It also influenced the fields of painting and literature. This bird, also known as Umay in the old Turkish culture, is a symbol describing inaccessible heights because it lives in heaven and flies very high, and according to some sources, it even goes as far as God. In the paintings, they are drawn in such a way that their feet cannot be seen in the vast sky and there is no other entity next to them, describing height and depth.
